Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist with in-person sampling / data collection within a population of assistance dogs, which often entails but is not limited to: administration of the Dog Cognitive Development battery and other behavioral tests in domestic dogs, actigraphy data, biological samples (stool, urine, saliva), video recordings, and survey data
• Data management, including experimental measures and survey responses (organization of research videos, preparation of documents for data collection, data checking and organization for analysis)
• Research logistics including ordering of supplies, schedule coordination, protocol updates, and record keeping
• Maintenance and organization of biological samples
• Behavioral scoring of research videos

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to conduct behavioral testing, which is physically intensive and requires long periods of standing, squatting, kneeling, spending time on the floor, and physically manipulating dogs weighing up to 80lbs and lifting puppies weighing up to 15 lbs
• Understanding of dog behavior and ability to work effectively with domestic dogs
• Strong organizational, time management, communication, and planning skills
• Attention to detail and ability to implement research protocols with high precision
